iSudokube is a 3D version of the classic Sudoku game.
There are plenty of offshoots and variations of Sudoku out there, but none of the others are truly 3D, where the puzzle dives inside the 3D cube. Many place flat Sudoku puzzles on the surface of a cube.
Others are fully 3D, but do not follow the classic Sudoku rules, such as requiring that each row, column, and square contain unique values.
iSudokube is the first to offer a true three dimensional Sudoku puzzle.
The rules are a simple extension to the standard 2D Sudoku puzzle. In the flat Sudoku puzzle, you must make sure that each row, column, and sub-square do not contain the same value more than once. In the 3D Sudoku puzzle, you must make sure that each row, column, and depth do not contain the same value more than once. Also, in each plane, you must makes sure that each sub-square does not contain the same value more than once.
If we attempted to extend the standard flat 9x9 Sudoku puzzle to a 9x9x9 puzzle, the result would be painfully complicated, and only Mr. Spock would be able to solve it.
Therefore, we reduced the puzzle to a 4x4x4 cube. Each plane consists of a 4x4 grid of cells, and four 2x2 sub squares. Each cell in the 2x2 sub-square must contain unique values. Each of the 3 axis of the puzzle is identified by a color; Red, Green, and Blue. If you are as much of a geek as we are, you can think of them as the X, Y, and Z axis. But, we will refer to them as the Red, Green, and Blue. For each of these colored axis, there are four planes. Each plane is comprised of a 4x4 grid, with four rows and four columns. To solve the puzzle, each of these rows and columns must contain unique values
